Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
Join a dynamic and growing co-manufacturer specializing in high-end chocolates, popcorns, and specialty snack foods. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will take ownership of maintaining equipment and processes in a rapidly expanding environment. This role is ideal for someone who can take initiative in problem-solving, process creation, and developing engineering controls.
Responsibilities
+ Perform proper preventive maintenance techniques to ensure equipment readiness for production start-up.
+ Repair worn out or damaged equipment and perform equipment modification and fabrication as needed.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
+ Follow all safety rules and practices while maintaining company standards in work techniques, speeds, and efficiencies.
+ Develop and implement maintenance procedures and innovations to improve efficiency, safety, and reduce maintenance costs.
+ Lubricate equipment with a thorough understanding of various requirements and perform basic welding and cutting of metals.
+ Train personnel on autonomous maintenance and minor repairs and adjustments.
+ Complete work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation.
+ Keep maintenance spaces clean and organized, maintain storeroom inventory, and equipment bill of material (BOM).
+ Read and interpret documents such as equipment manuals, safety rules, and GMPs.
+ Perform all tasks safely around automated and semi-automated machinery.
+ Conduct housekeeping and cleaning duties according to company SOPs before equipment is put back into production.
+ Perform all other required tasks.
Essential Skills
+ Troubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.
+ Mechanical and welding expertise.
+ Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and use hand tools.
+ PLC troubleshooting and production experience.
+ Minimum of 3 years of mechanical manufacturing and maintenance experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding and metal fabrication is strongly preferred.
+ Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and use a multimeter.
+ Basic math skills and effective communication skills.
+ Basic understanding of GMP and food safety concepts.
+ Basic computer skills and ability to work as part of a team.
+ Ability to work safely around food allergens and comply with attendance policy.

Safety shoes, hairnet, and beard net are required. The work environment observes GMP practices and involves exposure to noise, dust, oils, and allergens.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
