Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in West LA. This role involves overseeing financial operations for multi-family and residential property accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property accounting and a strong ability to manage deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance reports.

• Oversee tenant billing processes, rent collection activities, and delinquency reporting.

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and execute month-end closing procedures.

• Reconcile bank statements and implement cash management protocols.

• Ensure all processes comply with company policies and regulatory standards.

• Review and post charges, perform reconciliations, and manage allocation processes.

• Handle consolidations, including eliminating entries and managing intercompany transactions.

• Assist with special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Accounting.

• Maintain and update amortization and depreciation schedules.

Requirements • Extensive experience in property accounting, preferably with affordable housing and tax credits.

• Proficiency in Yardi property management software.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Strong ability to meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the property accounting field.

• Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
