Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting overall accounting operations. Responsibilities:

• Process and manage invoices, deposits, and billing transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring all data is organized and accessible.

• Handle insurance portal updates and assist with documentation related to contracts.

• Support the finance team with general bookkeeping tasks and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts to support month-end and year-end financial processes.

• Manage sales tax and corporate tax return filings to meet regulatory requirements.

• Monitor the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly recorded.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

• Provide detailed financial reports to assist in decision-making processes.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures and practices. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a nonprofit organization.

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with accounting software.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger management, journal entries, and financial reporting.

• Experience in handling sales tax and corporate tax returns.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Familiarity with billing and contract-related financial processes.
