Job Description:
+ **55%** - Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses per semester. Teach appropriate curricula and grade by criteria outlines on syllabus. Write and administer quizzes and exams; grade exams, students papers, etc. Provide instruction throughout the semester, usually 3 hours/week, one day a week.
+ **30%** - Prepare for and attend all class meetings. In case of absence, the lecturer must make arrangements for a substitute to teach class. Classes should not be cancelled.
+ **10%** - The lecturer should be available for reasonable appointments if a student cannot meet during scheduled office hours.
+ **5%** - Adhere to departmental, college and university policies.

Required Qualifications:
Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in letter of application, (2) record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in resume, and (3) information provided from professional references.
For teaching courses at the undergraduate level:
1. Master's degree in biology (e.g., ecology, genetics, microbiology, or relevant field to the course(s) being taught) OR a bachelor’s degree in biology (e.g., ecology, genetics, microbiology, or relevant field to the course(s) being taught) plus 10 years of professional experience.
2. Teaching experience in university/college setting, as evidenced by letter of application and teaching history.
For teaching courses at the graduate level:
1. Ph.D. in Biology (e.g., ecology, genetics, microbiology, or relevant field to the course(s) being taught) OR Master’s degree in Biology (e.g., ecology, genetics, microbiology, or relevant field to the course(s) being taught) and 7 years of relevant experience.
2. Teaching experience in university/college setting, as evidenced by letter of application and teaching history.

Position Overview:
The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of Kansas invites qualified scholars and professionals to submit applications, which will be reviewed by the faculty and placed in a pool to be considered for part-time and/or full-time, temporary and/or regular teaching positions as needed. These are non-tenure-track members of the faculty whose primary role is instructional. Applications will be accepted throughout the year and appointments made when extra instructors are required to fill vacancies or in emergency situations. The successful applicant must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Starting dates will vary as needs arise. Fall positions will begin on August 18 and end on December 31; Spring positions will begin on January 1 and end on May 16. The positions may be offered on the Lawrence or Edwards campuses or online.
