    Job Summary

    We are a growing department based in the Dayton office seeking the next great addition to our team. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, service-oriented installation and startup/warranty foreman with a strong background in mechanical equipment installation and startup procedures for systems such as chillers, boilers, and air handlers. This role requires someone who can deliver exceptional customer service and confidently represent our company in interactions with clients and the public.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Install and start up various HVAC equipment.

    + Communicate effectively with customers regarding tasks, issues, and impacts.

    + Work with electrical components from disconnects to equipment.

    + Document hours worked, tasks performed, materials used, and processes involved.

    + Interpret job plans, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, manuals, and codes.

    + Perform tasks outdoors in challenging environmental conditions.

    + Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards.

    + Participate in safety program requirements.

    + Assist with equipment installation and piping connections (condensate, refrigerant, chilled/hot water).

    + Perform sheet metal work including flue connections.

    + Pressure test, evacuate, and charge refrigerant-containing equipment.

    + Complete controls wiring and electrical connections.

    + Conduct unit startups (boilers, chillers, water heaters, air compressors, RTUs, mini splits, split systems, hanging heaters, etc.).

    + Handle overflow warranty diagnostics or repairs during the labor warranty period.

    + Experience in HVAC/R mechanic work, including installation and startup of plumbing, mechanical, heating, and air conditioning equipment.

    + Ability to wire a wide range of controls and system components.

    + Completion of a relevant trade school or apprenticeship program, or ability to complete within 1 year of hire.

    + Clean driving record and insurability for operating a company vehicle.

    + Teachable mindset.

    + Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and efficient in fast-paced environments.

    + High standards of quality and attention to detail

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.

    While visiting field locations, the employee may be required to work outdoors, be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
