Product Management Lead – Cross Procurement

About the team:

The mission of SAP Business Suite, Finance & Spend, and the Procurement Product Management team is to drive adoption, usage, and growth for our Procurement products through industry leading AI and innovation, with a steadfast focus on complementing SAP’s market leading Business Suite. We are responsible for defining product scenarios based on market and target customer needs and translating them into consumable product requirements for engineering teams. We work hand-in-hand with our engineering and product marketing teams, as well as with our customers and partners on continuously improving our SAP Ariba Procurement products. Product Management is the authoritative voice of the legitimate challenges customers face, evangelizing an outcome-based product vision and roadmap that truly solves pain points by creating products that delight, yet serve the needs of our customers.

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate Individual Contributor who can guide a family of future-oriented cloud products. Ideally, you bring a track record of working in a complex, fast-paced and agile organization. You will need to quickly establish credibility and trust with key SAP leaders, product marketing and product management teams, engineering teams, customers, and your peers. As a Product Manager, you will have a CEO mindset, meaning you have accountability for driving success and growth of your respective product area.

What You’ll Do:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Be a strong influencer across SAP and in the market

+ As a leader for the Cross Procurement products, you will focus on the inter-connectedness of our Procurement suite

+ Ensure end-to-end integration of applications, data, and workflows across the Source-to-Pay process to optimize procurement operations

+ Drive strategic product plans by managing dependencies across internal and external teams and leading strategic planning initiatives

+ Lead all partnership activities within Procurement, fostering collaboration with key stakeholders

+ Interface with central teams on strategy, corporate development, and M&A opportunities to align procurement objectives

+ Understand and take ownership of customer problems and turn them into product solutions from concept through to requirements, design, and delivery, collaborating with product marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders in doing so

+ Engage customers, partners, and other stakeholders at all stages of the product lifecycle to ensure we are solving the right problems and building products our customers need

+ Be a spokesperson for SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, as well as the SAP Business Suite with analysts, press, and influencers

+ Create a highly innovative cross organization with strong focus on collaboration and leadership NPS

What You Bring:

+ 15 years of relevant work experience in the software industry, specifically in Product Management

+ Expertise in cloud Procurement solutions

+ Excellent people & influencing skills and ability to deal with high pressure from internal and external stakeholders

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, partners and internal teams, as well as board/executive level presentation skills

+ Ideally, an international track record showcasing that you can effectively relate to multicultural teams

+ Strong customer focus with previous exposure to key customers, as well as partner orientation

+ Self-motivated and results-driven, with demonstrable success in previous positions

+ Understanding of how to develop a product strategy and a product roadmap based on developing strong market expertise for a topic or product area, with the ability to communicate this strategy and roadmap at all levels

+ Fluent or near-native English language skills

+ Required to be in our SAP Palo Alto office at least twice a week

**Compensation Range Transparency** : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 244700 - 602900 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
