    ummary

     

    The HVAC Technician II performs intermediate-level installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires solid technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and experience with troubleshooting residential and/or commercial HVAC equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform **routine and preventive maintenance** on HVAC systems, including filters, coils, belts, motors, and controls.

    + Diagnose and **troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues** in furnaces, condensers, heat pumps, chillers, rooftop units, and ventilation systems.

    + Install and commission HVAC equipment such as split systems, mini-splits, air handlers, package units, and thermostats.

    + Interpret and work from **blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals** .

    + Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, gauges, leak detectors) to identify issues and complete necessary repairs.

    + Assist with **refrigerant handling** , recovery, charging, and leak testing in compliance with EPA standards.

    + Ensure all work follows safety regulations, building codes, and company procedures.

    + Provide **excellent customer service** , explain findings, and recommend solutions to clients.

    + Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory of materials.

    + Mentor entry-level technicians as needed.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred.

    + 2–4 years of HVAC experience (or equivalent Level II competency).

    + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

    + Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems.

    + Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined or elevated spaces.
