    Function of Position:

    The Health & Wellness Ambassador I position is a part time, temporary grant position that reports directly to the Coordinator of the Counseling, Disability & Health Services office. This role assists with the development, delivery and evaluation of health and wellness programs and events for students. Focus area include, but are not limited to, mental health awareness, stress management, mindfulness, nutrition, sexual health and overall well-being. The Ambassador I plays a key role in advancing a culture of campus wellness through strategic outreach, program development, data-informed initiatives, and collaboration across departments.

     

    *This is a part-time temporary, grant funded position

    Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Develop, coordinate, and lead health and wellness programs, workshops, and events that align with departmental goals and student needs

    + Design and implement outreach strategies to engage students and promote awareness of campus wellness resources

    + Create, oversee, and evaluate marketing and communication materials (e.g., flyers, digital signage, social media, email announcements) to effectively advertise events, resources, and campaigns

    + Collect, analyze, and interpret program attendance and assessment data to evaluate effectiveness and inform future initiatives

    + Offer individual support sessions, promote personal wellness planning through the eight dimensions of wellness, and connect students to appropriate campus and/or community health resources.

    + Collaborate with campus and community partners to enhance programming and expand student access to health and wellness resources

    + Promote inclusivity and belonging by creating equitable, respectful, and culturally responsive spaces that support overall student well-being

    + Ensure proper management and organization of program materials, supplies, and resources to sustain high-quality wellness programming

    + Exhibit sound professional judgment, maintain confidentiality of student information, and uphold departmental policies and ethical standards

    + Promote and engage students with the available platforms offered by the department (e.g. Therapy Assistance Online, TimelyCare, etc.)

    + Perform other duties and responsibilities that contribute to the service offerings of the department and mission of the College assigned by Coordinator of the department

    Job Requirements:

    Required Qualifications:

    + Earned Master's degree in Counseling, Health Promotion or closely related field from an accredited higher education institution

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal

    + Experience in wellness programming from a multi-dimensional perspective of wellness

    + Experience working in higher education and with diverse student populations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

    Additional Information:

    Salary: $30-$35/hour.

     

    Schedule: This is a part-time, fully on-campus (in-person) position, with a maximum of 20 hours per week
