Job Description
The Sr Engineer, IT Enterprise Operations will be part of an industry leading IT team working in a fast-paced environment at this client. Under the guidance of the Mgr, IT Enterprise Operations, this individual will be responsible for day-to-day tasks functioning primarily as upper tier support through all phases of the project and hardware lifecycle. The Sr Engineer, IT Enterprise Operations is also responsible for the overall health of the CMDB data model, ensuring it aligns with the business's IT infrastructure and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). Occasional travel to the datacenter and other company locations.

1. Participate in architecture reviews with IT groups, ensure supportability requirements and standards are followed.
2. Develop new standards to maintain or improve stability and scalability of the current systems environment with specific considerations to sustainability and future-proof design.
3. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for systems and system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale.
4. Design, implement, and maintain the CMDB data model, ensuring it aligns with the business's IT infrastructure and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
5. Develop and enforce governance policies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and health of CMDB data. This includes defining data standards, managing relationship mappings between Configuration Items (CIs), and resolving data conflicts.
6. Define governance and processes in maintaining the integrity of configuration item (CI) data, ensuring alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and enabling effective service management, discovery, and asset lifecycle practices across the organization.
7. Configure and maintain integrations with external systems to ensure the CMDB, ITOM and ITAM data are always current and accurate.
8. Create and maintain CMDB health dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for IT and business stakeholders.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to define CI class structures, attributes, and relationships in alignment with CSDM standards.
10. Support the engagements efforts for ITOM-specific process definition, re-engineering, improvement and gap analysis of current/future-state processes during workshops with key stakeholders
11. Experience with Service Mapping, IT Asset Management (ITAM), or ITOM Visibility, will be preferred
12. Author documents that improve governance and librarianship with system-related architecture.
13. Skilled in determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
14. Contribute to and maintain system standards.
15. Ability to mentor junior network administrators and engineers in all aspects of systems design, operations, deployment, documentation and standards.
16. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor (4-year) degree with a technical major such as engineering or computer science (or equivalent education and applicable work experience). In lieu of degree, +2 years of professional experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons, and risks) within ITOM, while providing thought leadership to sponsors and stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems.
• Strong Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience in implementing ServiceNow ITOM, CMDB, and CSDM modules.
• Strong understanding of CMDB concepts, data modeling, and the CSDM framework. Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow CIS – ITSM
• ServiceNow CIS – any ITOM module (is a plus)
• ITIL v4
