Job Description
One of our Manufacturing Partners in Fayetteville AR is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to provide leadership and technical design support for the development of new products, fixtures, tooling, and special machinery that will result in increasing productivity, improving reliability, or enhancing product quality. The Design Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team that generates solid models for manufacturing tooling and fixtures along with detailed dimensioned drawings.
• Responsible for aligning Design Engineering team with organizational goals.
• Provide the day-to-day management of the design engineering group.
• Uses a strong analytical approach to problem-solving and create cost effective solutions. Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to
• drive operational excellence.
• Completes all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule.
• Generates solid models for manufacturing tooling and fixtures along with detailed dimensioned drawings.
• Provides technical review, understanding, and recommendations of sketches, descriptions, and specifications provided by engineers.
• Develops prototypes for new equipment and fixture designs and executes testing on said prototypes, as necessary.
• Coordinate fabrication efforts with the Tool Room and Maintenance departments
• Leads and collaborate on designs in a team environment, including formal design reviews
• Other tasks and project work, as assigned.

Skills and Requirements
• Possess an Engineering Degree from an accredited university, Mechanical degree highly preferred.
• 8-10+ years of hands-on relevant design experience, required.
• Design experience from concept to completion, required.
• Prior tool and die, product development, and/or fixture design experience, required
• Previous leadership experience leading technical design engineers, required.
• 1000+ hours experience using 3D CAD software, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent CAD software, required.
• Strong Familiarity with Machinery's Handbook
• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, welding, etc.) and their limitations, required.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret 2D mechanical drawings and generating creative solutions to unique design challenges.
• Willing to "roll up sleeves and do what needs to get done" to consistently deliver results.
Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, influence peers and drive execution.
