Job Description

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to drive the development and implementation of a robust data governance framework across our organization. This role will partner closely with business teams to ensure data accuracy, observability, and usability while enabling scalable analytics and future AI initiatives.

• Develop and implement a robust data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the organization.

• Partner with business teams to define and monitor KPIs and data quality metrics, enabling trusted analytics and decision-making.

• Establish and maintain data quality rules, observability dashboards, and retention policies to support regulatory and business requirements.

• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to integrate governance practices into pipelines and BI solutions.

• Manage data cataloging efforts, ensuring metadata completeness, lineage tracking, and discoverability for all critical datasets.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for data reliability and usability, supporting scalable analytics and future AI/ML projects.

• Act as a subject matter expert for governance standards, providing guidance and training to stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in Data Governance or related fields (data stewardship, data management, product analyst)

Proven ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and data ownership for their domain

Metrics gathering experience including calculations, sources, data quality rules, observability, data retention, etc

Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Looker, Domo or similar

Experience with data catalog tools like Alation or similar

Technical environment: Google, Snowflake
