**Shift** : _Days-_ M-F w/ rotating weekends, 4 10 hour shifts (7AM - 5:30AM)

Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute
The role you'll contribute:
Responsible for performing various Blood Center processes and procedures in assigned areas. This position includes blood donor collection, blood component processing, transport, and distribution. This role ensures accurate identification and labeling of blood products and samples, monitors donors for reactions, and provides post-donation care. Other responsibilities include ensuring proper storage and handling of blood products to maintain quality and safety standards.

+ Registers blood donors, explains the screening process, and provides relevant information about health tests, eligibility, and nutrition.
+ Accurately identifies donors throughout the donation process and performs phlebotomy to collect blood products.
+ Provides post-donation care, monitors donors for reactions, and assists or notifies staff as needed.
+ Assists in donor recruitment, encourages donations and rescheduling, and converts donors to apheresis when appropriate.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed** **:
+ Technical skills and aptitudes related to the collection or laboratory procedures or processes performed in the department or work area assigned. [Required]
+ Knowledge of FDA and AABB regulations/standards related to the blood product manufacturing process [Required]
+ Ability to understand and meet targets and deadlines. Able to learn and assimilate new information while thinking methodically [Required]
+ Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner [Required]
+ Ability to read text and numbers in English, with demonstrated ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match, problem solve, and exercise judgment under supervision [Required]
+ Knowledge of human anatomy [Required]
+ Computer applications and programs include but are not limited to, Laboratory application systems such as BBCS-ABO Suite and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook. [Required]
+ Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within AdventHealth guidelines and applicable regulations [Required]
+ Strong attention to details [Required]

+ High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
+ 3 experience in a donor center [Required]
+ License (DL) [Required]
