PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled **Machinist** to support a leading aerospace innovator in Lake Charles, LA. In this role, you'll help produce precision parts and components that power some of the most advanced aerospace systems in the world. Your expertise will directly contribute to high-stakes projects that shape the industry’s future.

+ **Job Type:** Full Time; Consultant (6 Months)

+ **Location:** Lake Charles, LA

+ **Schedule:** Monday–Thursday, 1st Shift; 6:00 AM–4:42 PM

+ **Pay Rate starting at:** $35.70 per hour

+ **Per Diem:** Offered per GSA guidelines for candidates living 50+ miles from worksite

What You’ll Do

In this highly skilled role, you will:

+ Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, CNC and manual mills, and precision grinders to machine parts from various metals.

+ Follow blueprints, sketches, engineering specs, and verbal instructions to determine machining operations and setups.

+ Use machinist tools and precision measuring devices—including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and more—to ensure parts meet exact tolerances.

+ Perform unique setups and shop computations related to feeds, speeds, and dimensions.

+ Lay out workpieces by measuring, marking, and scribing reference points.

+ Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.

+ Monitor quality through measurements and finish checks throughout the machining process.

+ Maintain a clean, organized workstation and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.

What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)

+ 5+ years of experience operating 3-Axis CNC machines (4- and 5-Axis experience is a plus).

+ Strong background in manual machining and machine setups.

+ Experience with MAZATROL and Fanuc (HAAS) controllers preferred.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering specifications.

+ Demonstrated ability to perform complex setups and machining operations. **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.**

Preferred Qualifications

+ CAD/CAM experience with Mastercam.

+ Experience with CAM using SolidWorks or NX Siemens.

+ Expertise with Fanuc Mill (HAAS) controls, including 5-axis simultaneous machining.

**Pay Details:** $35.70 per hour
