As a PRN Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient, you'll play a key role in supporting safe and efficient medication delivery by preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, operating the carousel system, answering calls and assisting with daily pharmacy operations. While your work may not always involve direct patient interaction, your accuracy and attention to detail will have a meaningful impact on patient care and treatment outcomes. This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role will work varying shifts, providing coverage for other caregivers on PTO, call offs and weekends.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the Registered Pharmacist.
+ Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
+ Fill medications carts daily.
+ Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
+ Repackage bulk medications.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
+ Registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
+ Six months of hospital experience
Physical Requirements:
+ Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $23.00
Maximum hourly: $23.00
