Job Title: Technical Writer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Writer who will serve as a Translation Analyst responsible for managing a large body of English strings, coordinating translations across multiple languages, and writing and maintaining user guides and help documentation. The role involves discovering and providing background information for untranslated English strings, collaborating with corporate translation services, and ensuring error-checked translations are integrated into the service tool. Additionally, the Technical Writer will manage the Troubleshooting Guide, Getting Started Guide, release documentation, and End User License Agreements.

Responsibilities

+ Manage a large body of English strings and translations across multiple languages.

+ Write and maintain user guides, help documentation, and end-of-release documentation.

+ Discover and provide background information for untranslated English strings.

+ Collaborate with corporate translation services and integrate translations into service tools.

+ Maintain and translate the Troubleshooting Guide and Help documentation.

+ Update the Getting Started Guide and generate What's New and Readme documents for each release.

+ Manage End User License Agreements (EULAs).

+ Spot check translations and format final documentation for translations.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Technical Writing, English communications, and technical documentation.

+ Experience with Microsoft Office, MadCap, HTML, and software development.

Work Environment

The ideal location for this role is Mossville, IL. The team operates in-office five days per week, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with an optional 9/80 work schedule. The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, focusing on delivering three product releases per year.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mossville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00/hr.
