Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in designing and developing advanced missile systems. This role involves using CAD software, particularly Siemens NX, to perform mechanical analysis, design, and testing of complex materials and structural components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the defense industry and demonstrate a willingness to seek innovative solutions to engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

+ Perform mechanical analysis, CAD design, and testing of missile system products using advanced software tools.

+ Apply engineering principles to enhance heritage features from previous designs.

+ Develop and manage test programs for evaluating system elements.

+ Communicate project status, analysis, and test results through reports and presentations.

+ Create and review design packages, ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.

+ Verify 3D models and liaise with engineering disciplines, manufacturing, and quality control.

+ Resolve drawing interpretation issues and supervise staff activities as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of experience in mechanical design with CAD, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter.

+ Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

+ Experience in missile, launch vehicle, booster, or defense-related industries.

+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related experience, or a Master's/PhD with 5 years of experience.

+ Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.

+ Active DoD Secret Security clearance.

+ Certification in GD&T Y14.5-2009.

+ Experience in the launch vehicle industry and DoD programs.

Work Environment

Work involves designing defensive systems for government and military customers. Most tasks are conducted in an office setting, with occasional lab or manufacturing work. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, offering a three-day weekend every other week to promote work-life balance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
