Job Title: Systems AdministratorJob Description

This opportunity arises from a significant R&D program aimed at updating a Cyberknife product. The role involves overcoming challenges in communication and time zones faced with European consultants, necessitating local support for hardware. The Systems Administrator will contribute to the compute-to-networking team responsible for defining operating systems, creating configurations, and deploying OS for the Cyberknife product. The position involves upgrading major operating systems, including Windows 11 and Linux, to enhance cybersecurity and network patching.

Responsibilities

+ Support hardware for the Cyberknife product.

+ Define and configure operating systems.

+ Deploy OS for the Cyberknife product.

+ Upgrade major operating systems, including Windows 11 and Linux.

+ Enhance cybersecurity and network patching.

+ Vet new hardware and facilitate its integration.

+ Administer extensive computer layouts and configurations.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Linux administration.

+ Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

+ Experience with test automation.

+ Familiarity with Juniper and Cisco firewalls.

+ Understanding of IP networking and protocols.

+ Ability to configure networks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

+ 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator.

+ 3+ years of experience with Windows or Linux operating systems.

+ 3+ years of experience in upgrading operating systems.

+ 3+ years of experience in networking firewalls and switch configuration (Cisco or Juniper).

+ 3+ years of experience in network administration.

+ 3+ years of experience creating networking requirements and test documentation.

Work Environment

This role requires onsite presence. The position is part of a small, dedicated compute-to-networking team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
