    Position Summary

    The BGA Rework Technician is responsible for the precise removal, replacement, reflow, and inspection of BGA components on printed circuit boards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    BGA Rework:

    + Perform removal and replacement of BGA components using hot air rework stations, reflow ovens, IR systems, and other specialized equipment.

    Inspection & Analysis:

    + Inspect circuit boards and BGA components using microscopes, X-ray (if applicable), and other inspection tools.

    + Identify defects such as solder bridges, insufficient solder, lifted pads, or misalignment.

    Component Preparation:

    + Prepare BGA rework sites by cleaning, removing old solder, applying solder paste or flux, aligning new components, and reflowing them onto PCBs.

    Quality Assurance:

    + Ensure all rework meets quality standards and customer specifications.

    + Conduct post-rework inspections, functional tests, and verify reliability.

    Documentation:

    + Document all rework activities, including component serial numbers, rework procedures, materials used, and board-level modifications.

    + Maintain accurate records for traceability.

    Process Improvement:

    + Identify opportunities to improve BGA rework processes, tools, and rework quality.

    + Provide feedback to engineering or production teams.

     

    Skills & Qualifications

    Technical Skills:

    + Strong proficiency in BGA rework techniques, including removal, replacement, reballing, and reflow.

    + Ability to interpret technical drawings, rework instructions, and PCB documentation.

    Attention to Detail:

    + High precision and accuracy in handling components and performing inspections.

    Problem-Solving:

    + Ability to troubleshoot BGA failures, soldering issues, or PCB defects.

    Communication:

    + Clear communication skills for reporting issues, documenting work, and collaborating with engineering and production teams.

    Teamwork:

    + Ability to work effectively in a production or lab environment to meet deadlines and team goals.

    Education & Experience

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Certification or formal training in electronics, soldering, IPC standards, or BGA rework preferred.

    + Previous hands-on experience in BGA rework or electronics manufacturing strongly preferred.

    **Pay Details:** $29.00 to $32.00 per hour
