    Principal Java Engineer

     

    We’re seeking a highly experienced Principal Java Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our core platform services. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll shape system architecture, mentor engineering teams, and drive high-impact solutions across our technology stack.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    + Lead backend architecture & development using Java and modern frameworks

    + Design scalable, secure, high-performance services running in AWS

    + Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for complex data operations

    + Drive cloud-first engineering best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and reliability

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

    + Conduct code reviews, guide engineering standards, and mentor developers

    + Own technical decision-making for critical system components and new initiatives

    + Improve performance, availability, and scalability of enterprise applications

    Requirements

    What You Bring

     

    + 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with deep expertise in Java

    + Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc.)

    + Advanced SQL skills, including writing, optimizing, and maintaining stored procedures

    + Experience building distributed systems and event-driven architectures

    + Strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, and system performance

    + Ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural direction

    + Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with product, QA, and leadership

     

    Nice to Have

     

    + Experience with microservices, messaging systems (Kafka, SQS), or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

    + Background in financial systems, enterprise data, or high-volume transaction processing

    + Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and monitoring tools
