Job Title: Electrical Controls Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our distribution team. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical control systems that support warehouse automation, material-handling equipment, and facility operations. The Electrical Controls Specialist will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving efficiency across the distribution network.
Responsibilities
+ Design, install, and maintain electrical control systems for conveyors, sorters, forklifts, and automated equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and other electrical components.
+ Program, configure, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to improve performance.
+ Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance and safety.
+ Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize urgent repairs and system upgrades.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system configurations.
+ Support facility expansion projects by designing and implementing new control systems.
+ Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support to minimize downtime.
+ Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and automation capabilities.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in electrical controls, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
+ Experience with motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
+ Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and other safety standards.
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $83200.00/yr.
