Job Title: Converting Operator
Job Description
As a Converting Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery used for flexible packaging, including labels and print on boxes. Your role will also involve maintaining and utilizing mounting equipment, ensuring it remains clean throughout your shift. You will manage plates used as molds, requiring cleaning prior to storage, and inspect each plate before use in a print run.
Responsibilities
+ Operate machines used for flexible packaging.
+ Maintain and clean mounting equipment during shifts.
+ Handle and inspect plates used as molds for printing.
+ Clean plates before storage.
Essential Skills
+ 6+ months of machine operation experience.
+ 1+ year of experience within a manufacturing setting.
+ Mechanically inclined.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Press Operator experience is a plus.

Work Environment
This is a smaller, family-owned and operated company with low turnover, where most staff have been with the company for over 5 years. They offer a supportive environment with an expectation of hard work. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans or work pants without holes, and a t-shirt. PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection are provided. Shift schedules include a 1st shift from 5-1 and a 2nd shift from 1-9.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
