Position Summary/Description:
UNC seeks a full-time Program Manager to work with Dr. Marissa Hall. The Program Manager will work closely with an interdisciplinary research team that values high-quality research and a collaborative working environment. The Program Manager will manage multiple public health research projects funded by federal agencies, foundations, and internal awards. The projects will be focused on food, tobacco, and alcohol policies and health communication strategies. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing budgets, managing timelines, managing staff and students, delegating and overseeing work of multiple team members, and ensuring the projects stay on track with key milestones, fulfilling reporting requirements, and adhering to research and human subjects regulations. The Program Manager will also contribute to dissemination of study findings (conference presentations and papers). The Program Manager will play a major role in managing the proposal development process and writing sections of proposals.
Education and Experience:
* Completion of a master’s degree or higher in public health or a related field.
* 2+ years of full-time relevant post-graduate degree experience. Experience managing research projects in university settings.
* Experience working on alcohol and nutrition research projects.
* Experience independently managing federally funded health behavior research studies.
* Prior work experience planning and implementing primary data collection for public health research projects.
* Experience working on research studies using experimental methods (online and in-person) and eye tracking methods.
Essential Skills:
Demonstrated experience in conducting tasks such as reviewing scientific literature, designing data collection instruments, managing research databases, administering IRB applications, and/or developing study protocols.
Experience working on or managing federally funded research studies/projects.
