Senior Director, Nuclear Plant Services

System One has a great opportunity for a Senior Director of Nuclear Plant Services, preferably based in the Houston area.

The Senior Director of Nuclear Plant Services will lead the development, optimization, and delivery of innovative service offerings that improve performance across a fleet of nuclear facilities. This leadership role drives a fleet-wide operational strategy, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and organizational leadership to elevate service delivery and operational excellence. This position requires regular in-person engagement with team members across multiple office locations. Travel up to 50% should be expected, varying with business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Strategy Development: Define and implement a catalogue of fleet-wide nuclear plant services aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Identify opportunities to standardize and streamline plant deployment and operational processes.

+ Leadership & Team Management: Build, mentor, and oversee a high-performing team responsible for nuclear plant services. Foster cross-functional collaboration and alignment on best practices. Lead a cultural evolution from an R&D-driven environment to one focused on delivery and execution.

+ Service Innovation & Optimization: Develop service offerings that enhance project deployment, operational efficiency, reliability, and safety. Deploy advanced tools, technologies, and methodologies—including emerging technologies such as AI—to strengthen plant deployment and operational performance.

+ Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality programs.

+ Customer Support & Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. Collaborate with stakeholders to address customer needs, challenges, and expectations.

+ Operational Execution: Develop and manage departmental budgets including labor, materials, and overhead with direct impact on P&L. Establish metrics to evaluate department and service-line performance. Provide executive-level reporting on operational and service results.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES:

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or science required; MBA preferred.

+ Minimum 15 years of experience in nuclear reactor technology, nuclear plant operations, or related services, including at least 5 years leading a services delivery organization.

+ Senior Reactor Operator certification, construction/startup experience, or nuclear technology/services business development experience preferred.

+ Must demonstrate strong leadership, technical writing, communication, and project-management abilities.

+ Must have experience building teams and coordinating multi-disciplinary technical activities.

+ Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 and able to work on active nuclear project sites with appropriate training.
