The Mission of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE) is to improve the operations of the criminal justice and juvenile justice system and promote public safety by providing progressive leadership and coordination within the criminal justice community.

We are seeking a highly experienced and administrative-level Federal Programs Director to lead the planning, coordination, and administration of multiple statewide criminal justice programs for the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE). This role involves significant policy direction, development, and decision-making for federal grants. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and oversee program evaluation. Travel, both in-state and out-of-state, is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been in criminal justice policy analysis, law enforcement, contracts or grants management, or statistical analysis:
Seven years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Duties:
+ Direct, coordinate, plan, and administer multiple agency criminal justice programs and services on a statewide basis, serving as a Federal Programs Director.
+ Perform administrative-level oversight, planning, policy direction, development, and decision-making for major federal grants, including the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program and the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Program.
+ Provide direct supervision of three professional Criminal Justice Policy Planners for all day-to-day functions and functionally supervise eight regional/district offices statewide.
+ Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations for the programs administered, and oversee program evaluation and monitoring.
+ Serve as a specialist to the LCLE Supervisory Board and oversee staff support for LCLE Advisory Boards, including the Violent Crime and Drug Control Policy Board.
+ Meet with officials of federal, state, and local agencies, legislators, and professional organizations, and serve as the agency representative on task forces, committees, and advisory groups.
