We are seeking a **_Space Planning Analyst_** who will be a member of Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate (JHFRE)’s Planning & Architecture (P&A) team. The P&A team supports long-range planning, capital strategy, new construction, renovation, and space utilization initiatives for all non-clinical space on the Homewood, East Baltimore, Peabody, and DC campuses as well as the university’s leased properties. They ensure that university facilities support users’ priority needs, confirm that proposed projects comply with requirements and guidelines, and advocate for long-term stewardship of the campus. Data analysis is an increasingly central element of this work, and the Space Planning Analyst will complement the team of planners and architects.
The Space Planning Analyst will be a key point of contact between the Planning & Architecture team and JHFRE’s Information Systems team, working closely with the University Space System Administrator, GIS Administrator, and others to perform ongoing analysis of space use using the databases they maintain and review data for accuracy
The Space Planning Analyst will have opportunities for professional growth and development, particularly in the areas of higher education space planning and management.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Prepare responses to data requests from other university units and consultants.
+ Analyze and visualize data about campus space uses, sizes, and scheduling patterns as well as the impact of proposed and ongoing changes.
+ Collaborate with the University Space System Administrator to ensure space changes are being accurately tracked in Archibus and/or GIS so as to provide an always current inventory of all JHU-owned or leased assets.
+ Participate in on-site space audits to create and validate databases by observing campus conditions.
+ Understand and use the enterprise’s selected methodology, principles, standards, and software tools.
+ Work with JHFRE colleagues to define and develop data analysis principles, practices, and processes that create value for JHFRE and the university.
+ Conduct research assignments related to past, current, and future best practices related to space planning and space metrics that will inform university decision-making.
+ Track space allocation and other related metrics for building projects in the design, construction, and post-occupancy phases.
+ Work with Planning & Architecture leadership to facilitate near- and long-term campus and space planning and design processes and initiatives. Process facilitation responsibilities may include working with administrative staff to coordinate meetings, preparing agendas and meeting materials, documenting decisions made in meetings, and managing project data records.
+ Participate in the development of project scopes and schedules. Monitor and report on progress to ensure timely completion of data analysis deliverables.
+ Work collaboratively with all units of Facilities and Real Estate, as well the university’s colleges and divisions, to support the overall mission of the organization.
+ Deliver high-value customer service that reinforces the Planning & Architecture group’s leadership role in data-driven decision making about campus facilities and space.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ Five years of related experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Role/Level/Range: ATP/04/PD
Starting Salary Range: $62,900 - $110,100 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
