Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical public safety programs in a hybrid role based in Linthicum, MD. The position requires on-site work approximately three times per week, depending on program needs. We are looking for a detail-oriented, fast-learning professional with expertise in radio programming, RF theory, telecommunications, and networking. This role may require Yankee White clearance, so candidates must be eligible and willing to pursue it.

The ideal candidate will have junior to mid-level experience and the ability to create signal flow diagrams, acceptance test plans, and technical standard operating procedures. A strong understanding of how all components—such as routers, switches, firewalls, and other network elements—integrate to form a complete system within radio and related communication products is essential. This systems-level knowledge is critical for effective troubleshooting, configuration, and ensuring end-to-end operational integrity. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, technical proficiency, and a commitment to supporting complex, high-impact projects.

$55hr to $70hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements

-Proven ability to design or maintain integrated systems that combine radio communication products with network infrastructure.

-Familiarity with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) or similar technologies, including how radios interface with IP-based networks.

-Experience ensuring operational integrity across multiple layers—hardware, software, and network—through system-level troubleshooting and configuration.

-Strong Linux and system administration skills.

-Familiarity with VMware ESXi

-Working knowledge of Active Directory for access control and user management.

-Proven ability to produce clear, professional technical documentation, Standard operating procedures (SOPs), and acceptance test plans.

-Proficiency in MS Visio and Microsoft Office Suite

-Active TS/SCI Security Clearence

-Willingness to obtain YW Security Clearence -Bachelor's Degree from a technical discipline (mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, etc.)

-Strong Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Expertise

-Strong understanding of RF Theory and Operations

-Experience with ASTRO product line software/systems (UNC, PM, UEM, KMF, AXS Consoles, M-Cores, K-Cores, etc.)

-Strong Networking Background

-Familiarity with Radio Programming Software (CPS)

-Experience with G-series Programming Software (CSS)
