    Responsibilities:

    GENERAL PURPOSE

    The General Purpose provides a concise, high-level overview of the role, level, and scope of responsibility consisting of 3-4 sentences. It provides a basic understanding of the job, and a concise summary of why the job exists and how it makes an impact.

     

    Processes the organization's human resource information using the most efficient and cost-effective computer systems and applications. Leads initiatives to research, analyze, design and maintain information systems in support of human resource administration and projects. Monitors HR information needs and designs new or modifies existing systems to meet changing requirements. Solves complex problems. Leads or manages projects or project steps within a broader project. Has accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

     

    The Lead Analyst for UKG is responsible for recommending, designing, developing, implementing, and overseeing the architecture of the UKG system to meet the evolving needs of the University. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to understand business requirements, propose innovative solutions, and translate them into technical specifications and system designs that prioritize maintainability and scalability.

     

    As a technical leader, the Lead Analyst must possess a deep understanding of workforce management principles, advanced scheduling techniques, and the UKG platform. This role also requires collaboration with Lead Analysts supporting other platforms to ensure cross-platform consistency, data integrity, and quality.

     

    The Lead Analyst will mentor team members, provide oversight for all platform changes and upgrades, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are essential for success in this role.

    Essential Functions:

    + Leads functional analysis and design to configure, support, maintain, extend, and improve business processes and the associated HR Systems. Designs, manages, and validates configurations, system fixes, enhancements, interfaces, reports, upgrades, regulatory updates and implementation of new modules and features.

    + Leads initiatives to design functional specifications, design diagrams, file and record layouts, page design, user interfaces and navigation, project plans, test plans and implementation procedures for highly complex HCM, Time & Labor, Scheduling, Leave Administration, and Payroll systems.

    + Advises and works collaboratively with University-wide leadership and user departments regarding feasibility of systems and procedures.

    + Recommends significant process improvements and system solutions, specifically those that are integral in business process design, planning, configuration, testing and implementation.

    + Leads design sessions and designs complex enhancements to systems or functional services fulfilling user requirements and goals.

    + Sets direction for application configuration or development deliverables and assists teams in the completion of their assigned deliverables.

    + Participates in and signs off on system design reviews and code/configuration walkthroughs.

    + Supports the ongoing digital transformation and proactively identifies potential optimizations to existing processes.

    + Leads semi-annual cloud solution upgrade projects, ensuring complete regression testing and impact analysis of all changes and enhancements.

    + Maintains a project list and roadmap of applicable enhancements.

    + Participates in UKG Advisory Groups, webinars and user groups, providing product enhancement overviews to University IT and Customer stakeholders.

    + Partners with suppliers to maximize existing technology investments and provide University input on product development for current and anticipated business needs.

    + Investigates and resolves user and system issues, working with University IT and vendor support when appropriate.

    + Provides after hours support when needed.

    + Escalates issues and works with vendors to solve complex issues.

    + Provides primary and backup support in two or more of these functional areas: Core HR, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Time & Labor, Scheduling, Leave Administration, Benefits.

    + Assists with the estimation and planning of future work plans.

    + Assists with project planning and budgeting.

    + Works with stakeholders to prioritize competing projects and initiatives using available resources, without compromising operational standards.

    + Assists project managers to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet key project success criteria.

    + Mentors and/or trains new or lower level staff.

    Minimum Education & Experience:

    + Experience in higher education field preferred

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills with various audiences, from business leaders to technical resources, required

    + Ability to tailor communications appropriate to the audience to avoid communication gaps, required

    + Excellent interpersonal skills, required

    + Ability develops a rapport with business leaders, IT teams, and stakeholders throughout the University community, required

    + Ability to give and receive constructive criticism, required

    + Ability to remain tolerant and respectful of the opinions of others, required

    + Proven track record executing multiple work streams and producing consistent results, required

    + Ability to distill technical information into succinct and digestible information for a broad (non-technical) audience, required
