If you are an AI Developer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting role for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will be a member of Measurement Solutions AI Center of Excellence team. This role focuses on rapidly prototyping AI solutions, building user-facing applications, and developing interactive interfaces for AI models. The ideal candidate brings experience in implementing NLP/LLM solutions, creating dashboards and front-end applications, and translating AI capabilities into accessible tools for business users across our industrial B2B applications.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
+ Rapidly prototype and develop AI-powered applications including chatbots, interactive dashboards, and user-facing tools that make AI capabilities accessible to business users
+ Build front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (Streamlit, Shiny, Gradio) to create intuitive experiences for interacting with AI models and data insights
+ Implement conversational AI systems and RAG architectures, integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock) into user-friendly applications
+ Develop interactive data visualization dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, and custom web applications to present AI insights and analytics
+ Create proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate AI value, enabling quick iteration and stakeholder feedback before full-scale deployment
+ Build end-to-end AI applications from data ingestion through model deployment, focusing on user experience and business value deliver
+ Collaborate with the AI engineering team to integrate prototypes into production systems and scale successful solutions
+ Implement topic modeling, text classification, and NLP solutions with emphasis on making results interpretable and actionable for end users
+ Design and develop APIs and microservices that expose AI capabilities to other systems and applications
+ Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and rapidly iterate on AI solution designs
+ Create documentation, demos, and training materials to support user adoption of AI tools

For This Role, You Will Need:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
+ 2+ years in AI/ML or software engineering
+ Proficient in Python, NLP, and LLMs
+ Experience with ML frameworks and cloud platforms
+ Skilled in building interactive apps and data visualization
+ Strong problem-solving and communication skills
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
+ Masters in CS/ML (in progress accepted) with 3+ years in AI app development
+ Skilled in conversational AI, chatbots, and modern web frameworks (React, Vue.js)
+ Experience with industrial automation, IoT, RAG, and semantic search
+ Strong UI/UX design for AI, with open-source contributions
+ Proficient in container orchestration, microservices, and agile development

•Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $117,600-$142,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
