    Job Description: Sigmatech is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cybersecurity Liaison / Cybersecurity Analyst to support the National Security Space Institute (NSSI) by serving as a critical bridge between technical teams, leadership, mission partners, and external organizations. This position ensures effective communication and coordination of cybersecurity initiatives while performing hands-on cybersecurity analysis, Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance support, vulnerability management, incident coordination, and continuous monitoring. The role helps align cybersecurity efforts with NSSI mission objectives and DoD cybersecurity requirements.

    Job responsibilities for this position include:

    + Serve as the primary cybersecurity point of contact for internal teams, leadership, vendors, and mission partners.

    + Support planning, execution, and tracking of cybersecurity projects; evaluate processes, gather feedback, recommend improvements, and maintain accurate documentation of policies, procedures, and technical guidance.

    + Coordinate meetings, briefings, audits, assessments, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) milestones to align cybersecurity policies, requirements, and objectives with organizational goals.

    + Conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis, and remediation using Department of Defense (DoD) tools, including Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Host-Based Security System/Endpoint Security System (HBSS/ESS), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Viewer, and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

    + Assess system configurations and security controls for compliance with STIGs, Security Requirements Guides (SRGs), and RMF requirements; monitor logs, alerts, and events, identify anomalies, and support escalation and documentation.

    + Prepare, maintain, and review RMF documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and continuous monitoring artifacts.

    + Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Authorization to Connect (ATC) activities, security control assessments, and compliance inspections; coordinate with Security Control Assessors (SCAs), Authorizing Officials (AOs), and audit teams.

    + Support cybersecurity incident response, including tracking actions and communicating impacts, mitigation progress, and status to leadership and stakeholders.

    + Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness programs, training, and best practices; provide guidance on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and trends.

    + Manage cybersecurity requirements with vendors and third parties; support security reviews and validation of third-party technologies or services.

    + Identify, assess, and communicate cybersecurity risks; collaborate with risk management teams to implement mitigation strategies; prepare reports, metrics, and leadership briefings.

    Required Experience:

    Experience and Skills

    + 5+ years cybersecurity or information assurance experience in DoD/federal environments.

    + Hands-on with Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts (SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms) and ATO/ATC processes.

    + Proficient with DoD tools: ACAS, HBSS/ESS, eMASS, STIG Viewer.

    + Experience in vulnerability analysis, compliance assessments, remediation tracking, and incident response.

    + Skilled in continuous monitoring, log/event analysis, risk evaluation, and gap mitigation.

    + Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policy, NIST SP 800-53/37, STIGs, and SRGs.

    + Experienced briefing, documenting, and engaging with stakeholders, including AOs, SCAs, system owners, and mission partners.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Certifications

    + DoD 8140/8570 compliant (Security+, CySA+, CISSP, GSEC, or equivalent).

    + Preferred: Network+, CAP, GCIH, CISM.

    Security Clearance

    + Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI eligible preferred.

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred.

    + Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to lift and carry network equipment (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.

    + Ability to work on-site at the National Security Space Institute, including secure areas such as SCIF environments.

    + Occasional after-hours support may be required during assessments, inspections, or incident response activities.

     

    In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role $75,000 to $95,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location, and often contractual requirements.
