Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of various systems and equipment, including extraction, mix-blend, boilers, HVAC, cooling towers, waste treatment, water softeners, RO units, and production equipment. This position involves a range of light electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic work.

Responsibilities

+ Perform planned, corrective, and unplanned maintenance on specified equipment.

+ Utilize available documentation to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

+ Ensure workplace safety by eliminating unsafe conditions.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.

+ Support Quality Systems.

+ Protect company assets by addressing any conditions leading to equipment or building abuse.

+ Execute the preventive maintenance program as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

+ Inspect operating machines and equipment to ensure they meet operational standards.

+ Maintain oral and written communication within the maintenance team to ensure smooth shift transitions.

Essential Skills

+ Maintenance technician skills in electrical, troubleshooting, hydraulics, mechanical, pneumatics, and repair.

+ Experience with preventive maintenance.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematics.

+ PLC troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting, including 3-phase systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Maintenance background with familiarity in production equipment, preferably food production equipment.

+ Basic knowledge of business software and manufacturing software (HMIs, PLCs).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexandria, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
