Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate CNC Lathes and Mills, specifically Okuma machines, within our job shop environment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, utilizing micrometers and calipers for quality assurance, and changing out tools on machinery as needed. The majority of materials worked with are stainless steel, and willingness to assist in other areas of the shop and train on other machinery is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Operate CNC Lathes and Mills efficiently.
+ Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
+ Utilize micrometers and calipers for quality checks.
+ Change out tools on machinery as required.
+ Collaborate with team members in other areas of the shop.
+ Train on additional machinery as needed.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience operating CNC Lathes/Mills.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience with micrometers and calipers.
+ Background in CNC operation.
+ Experience working with stainless steel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ G&M Code editing experience.
+ CNC programming skills.

Work Environment
This role is based in a machine shop working alongside 15-20 colleagues. The first shift runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime extending to 5:30 pm when needed, and occasional half-day Saturdays. The shop primarily handles stainless steel materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKFORT, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
