Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a Contract basis in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through thorough investigations and reconciliations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient financial operations while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards. This position is fully remote, but you need to be located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate discrepancies, missing data, and variances across financial statements and transaction records.

• Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, invoices, payments, and inventory data.

• Research and resolve mismatched entries by verifying documentation and collaborating with relevant teams.

• Maintain accurate records of findings, corrective actions, and reconciliation results.

• Escalate complex issues or potential fraud cases to management when necessary.

• Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to clarify and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Identify recurring issues and propose process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

• Support internal audits and compliance efforts through meticulous documentation and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and quality control procedures.

Requirements

+ Background in subrogation, health insurance processing, workers’ compensation, or legal settlement workflows.

+ Experience handling financial reconciliation or payment research.

+ Familiarity with claim systems, legal documentation, or insurance recovery processes.

+ Strong analytical thinking with a demonstrated ability to solve complex payment or documentation discrepancies.

+ Ability to thrive in an environment where information may be incomplete, ambiguous, or difficult to obtain.
