    Robert Half is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support a smart mobility/traffic technology organization based in Portland, OR. This role involves supporting field-based automated traffic enforcement systems due to increased coverage needs in the Northern Oregon region. The position is Remote (field-based) and is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong potential to convert. Apply today!

    Job Details:

    Schedule: Flexible start (6:00 AM–9:00 AM); 40 hours/week; rare emergency work

     

    Duration: Temp-to-hire (conversion expected after 6–8 months with strong performance)

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Perform preventative maintenance on automated traffic enforcement equipment.

    + Terminate non-live wiring and perform basic low-voltage tasks.

    + Log into systems, run diagnostics, and verify components onsite.

    + Swap equipment batteries, clean components, and complete ladder-based tasks as needed.

    + Program and configure system components after training (IP settings, router-style configuration, passwords, etc.).

    + Complete LIDAR/RADAR speed validation work within the first 30–60 days.

    + Use ServiceNow to receive tickets, document work, and communicate with the team.

    + Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and inventory.

    + Represent the organization professionally when interacting with local officials.

    + Work independently across assigned territory with minimal supervision.

    Requirements

    + Basic computer knowledge, including ability to change IP addresses and configure simple network settings.

    + Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in the field.

    + Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures.

    + Good attitude, “straight-arrow” personality, and willingness to learn.

    + Comfortable using ladders and performing hands-on maintenance tasks.

    + Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license (company vehicle provided).

    + Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors.

    + Remedial technical skills can be trained, but must have computer basics.
