Job Title: AR/Collections AssociateJob Description
Under the guidance of the Credit and Collections Supervisor/Manager, the AR/Collections Associate is committed to representing the company in a professional and courteous manner. This role involves contacting customers to collect on past due invoices and resolving any open issues, such as credits, unapplied cash, and disputes.
Responsibilities
+ Contact customers regarding past due balances and document all pertinent information (approximately 50 calls per day).
+ Communicate with field personnel concerning past due invoices and disputes.
+ Research and reconcile all open issues, including credits, unapplied cash, misapplied cash, and disputes.
+ Send correspondence, such as letters and statements, via mail or fax.
+ Update account changes with the appropriate department.
+ Place or release customer account holds as necessary.
+ Collaborate with collection agencies to assign accounts and respond to inquiries.
+ Provide management with the status of past due accounts.
+ Perform other essential duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of Accounts Receivable experience in a mid-sized company.
+ 1+ years of prior collections experience, preferably in business-to-business settings.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to type 35 words per minute and be on the phone 90% of the workday.
+ Background in distribution or manufacturing is preferred.

+ Strong research abilities for reviewing customer accounts and resolving matters.
+ Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
+ Effective interpersonal skills for communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
+ Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to a changing environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in a corporate office environment and is 100% on-site. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of La Vergne, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
