Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to support our month-end financial close process and contribute to various financial analyses. This role involves preparing and posting journal entries, creating reports around overtime, inventory, and sales variances, and actively participating in cross-functional teams to enhance processes and cost efficiency. The Accountant will also assist with capital expense and cost accounting functions, analyze financial trends, reconcile expenses, and participate in integration projects with a focus on efficiency and internal controls.
Responsibilities
+ Support the month-end financial close process through preparation and posting of journal entries in alignment with accounting policies.
+ Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports on overtime, inventory, and sales variances, focusing on drivers of change.
+ Actively participate in cross-functional teams, spending time on the manufacturing floor to understand and improve processes and costs.
+ Perform various ad hoc analyses and reporting as necessary.
+ Support members of the Plant finance team with capital expense and cost accounting functions as needed.
+ Assist with the review and analysis of financial trends and variances.
+ Reconcile actual expenses compared to production reporting and recommend improvements to production costing.
+ Participate in various integration projects with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and internal controls.
+ Update ERP system for annual budget standard costs.
+ Drive preparation of annual budget with the Sr. Financial Analyst.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of accounting experience.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ Advanced or intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience with reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
+ Familiarity with cost accounting and manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Advanced Degree in a related field.
+ Experience in the automotive industry.
+ Cost accounting experience.
Work Environment
The role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with working hours from Monday to Friday, either from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm or 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. There is limited flexibility on start times to ensure daily reports are complete ahead of production leadership meetings. The company offers a competitive compensation package and is currently investing in new equipment, maintaining a stable position as an automotive supplier in the area.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $69000.00/yr.
