    Job Overview

     

    Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC is hiring a full-time Program Manager to begin in Spring, 2026. The Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Interventions for Managing Parenting and Cancer Team (IMPACT)--a comprehensive initiative dedicated to supporting parents at risk for, or living with, cancer. IMPACT develops, evaluates, and implements behavioral quality of life interventions for these parents, their cancer caregivers, and their children throughout the entire cancer journey--from risk identification and diagnosis through treatment. The program integrates research, medical education, clinical care, and community service. Under the supervision of the IMPACT Director, the IMPACT Program Manager will coordinate all program activities, including patient navigation services, collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and community partners, and initiatives that advance the mission of IMPACT. The Program Manager will also supervise staff and students working with the Director, overseeing project management, task assignment, and progress tracking, as well as data analysis and reporting. This position requires knowledge of cancer control and prevention resources, as well as experience in public health, project management, and patient navigation. Familiarity with community organizations focused on cancer is beneficial. The Program Manager will work closely with the IMPACT Director, patients, and community liaisons to foster collaborations across the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center’s oncology service lines at two hospital campuses, behavioral health and bioinformatics teams, and regional partners to establish and maintain referral networks for families across the cancer continuum of care. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of cancer’s impact on the family system, the importance of psychosocial prevention, quality of life in cancer care, and community outreach and engagement.     Duties include but are not limited to:

    + Overseeing day-to-day operations of the program, including staffing.

    + Performing patient navigation to cancer-focused resources and electronic health record review.

    + Networking for community outreach and engagement.

    + Program evaluation data management, analysis, and reporting.

    + Travel to and organizing professional meetings.

    + Administratively supporting all activities of the Director.

     

    Work Interactions

     

    IMPACT is housed within the Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) program of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. CPC is the nexus for population sciences-focused research, education, and service at Georgetown Lombardi. Reviewed by the NIH/NCI, CPC is 1 of 3 standing research programs that comprise the cancer center. Its mission is to conduct epidemiologic, behavioral, and public health-focused research on novel and innovative ways to prevent and control the spread of cancer locally and in the US population.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    + A bachelor's degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in a public health discipline (e.g., psychology or behavioral science, community health education), with experience in aspects of program management. Superior organizational abilities, attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize.

    + Professional, service-oriented demeanor, and discerning sense of judgment.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills in coordination and communication with constituents, including administrators, faculty, students, and staff. Strong written communication skills are a essential.

    + Research and evaluation data management and analysis skills commensurate with level of responsibilities, including using SPSS or similar statistical software.

    + Commitment to coordinating logistics, meetings, and workflow processes in an organized and professional manner.

    + Collaborative work style and desire to join a cohesive team and collegial environment.

    + Growth mind-set and the ability to assess and evaluate procedures, events, or meetings.

    + Experience using various scheduling tools, research databases, word processing software, and office applications technologies including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Box.

    + Availability for evening and weekend work and travel as communications and tasks demand.

    Pay Range:

    The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

    $47,586.00 - $87,558.13

     

    Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
