• Cost Accountant Consultant

    TEKsystems (Denver, CO)


    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant Consultant to support our finance team during a critical transition period. This role is ideal for a seasoned cost accounting professional who thrives in dynamic environments and can serve as a strategic business partner across departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Manage ongoing cost accounting workload, including:

    + Standard costing for manufactured products

    + Inventory reconciliation

    + Month-end close procedures

    + Warranty and fixed asset variance analysis

    + Material, labor, and overhead variance analysis

    + Document and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support onboarding and training of new staff

    + Assist in training the incoming permanent Cost Accountant II (estimated 2-week training period)

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    + 4–6 years of experience in cost accounting (industry experience flexible)

    + Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

    + Hands-on experience with ERP systems (QAD preferred; adaptability to manual/legacy systems required)

    + Proven ability to prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations with high attention to detail

    + Excellent cross-functional communication skills; able to collaborate as a business partner across departments

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

    + Experience developing and implementing SOP procedures

    This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $46.64 - $48.08/hr.
