Core Technical Skills
+ Fiber Splicing: Single and ribbon splicing, including high-count cables (e.g., 6912 fibers)
+ Testing: OTDR, power meter, and troubleshooting test results
+ Cable Management: Mid-sheath entry, relocations, hot cuts, and enclosure installation
+ Documentation: Reading/interpreting prints, creating trackers, Smart Sheets
+ Data Center Experience: Working with mass fusion splicers and pre-terminated pigtails
Additional Qualifications
+ Experience with mass fusion splicing in data center environments
+ Ability to prep, splice, and test high-count cables (e.g., 6912s)
+ Strong safety-first mindset
+ Willingness to travel and work long hours
+ Effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abilene, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00/hr.
