    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must have a Master’s Degree or Higher in Educational Leadership or Administration or another area of Educational Studies; Hold a Valid Teaching Certification in the area of Educational Leadership.

     

    Job Specification

     

    Reports to the Director of Education (also to the Facility Director on the ground where his/her school is located); administers the school in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education and OJJ policies.

     

    Uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to maintain an effective learning climate and to promote the educational development of each student.

     

    Plans and implements a program which creates an environment where teachers have the ability to design and implement a course(s) of study that enables students to learn and develop optimally.

     

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Plan, organize, and oversee the work of school staff to ensure effective operations.

    + Recruit, mentor, and retain diverse, highly effective teachers and staff; provide supervision and support.

    + Direct school operations in alignment with BESE, LDE, and OJJ policies.

    + Implement state and district curricula and assessments, ensuring alignment with college and career readiness standards.

    + Monitor student data to guide instructional and intervention decisions that maximize achievement and close equity gaps.

    + Conduct classroom walk-throughs to evaluate instructional practices and ensure progress on district initiatives.

    + Set clear expectations for staff performance and conduct rigorous evaluations using multiple data sources.

    + Collaborate with campus and district committees to plan professional development activities.

    + Coach and develop teachers and staff through individualized feedback and aligned professional growth opportunities.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Work Location: This vacancy is located at Acadiana Center for Youth in Bunkie,Louisiana.

     

    Terms of Employment: 12 Month Employee (as set by the Office of Juvenile Justice)

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

     

    No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
