    Why Sentinel? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without a doubt Sentinel Program is one of the DOD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. Sentinel is the Department of Defense s newest official program of record having achieved Milestone B and enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to deploy over a nine-year period beginning in 2026 and remain operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply available with smaller projects.

     

    This ISC Sentinel Enterprise Test Branch Lead will lead, motivate and effectively manage approximately 5 ISC personnel (a mix of BAE Systems and subcontractor employees), in support of present and future Sentinel test activities throughout the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) and Production and Deployment program phases, and for other activities as assigned. They will oversee a team of multi-disciplinary ISC personnel in conducting systems and mission integration activities and analytics supporting the Sentinel Developmental and Operational Test Campaigns and supporting the Sentinel Integrated Test Team (ITT). This position also manages budgets, hours and personnel.

     

    This leader will work closely with their government customer and their direct reports to maintain tight alignment with and excellent support of government customer priorities delivering products that meet or exceed expectations. They will interact and cooperate with experts from program aligned UARCs and FFRDCs, and the Prime contractor, as well as other ISC Managers as needed to ensure coordinated delivery of technically sound products and analysis.

    The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    Providing leadership and expertise in supporting the Test Management Section/Branch.

     

    Development of test strategies and documents according to DOD and Air Force requirements.

     

    Support range safety and flight test readiness for the Sentinel program.

     

    Support ground, full system integration testing, the Integrated Test Team (ITT) as well as other test related working groups.

     

    Coordinate/interface across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to define, develop and integrate the all Sentinel Test Programs.

     

    Drive technical performance with engineering oversight and insight to successfully execute the Sentinel test programs, including technical reviews of data packages, including CDRL deliverables.

     

    Ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.

     

    Success in leading and developing cross functional teams.

     

    Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    ABET-accredited BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics.

     

    10 years (8 years with Master's degree) of progressive experience in systems integration and engineering.

     

    At least 7 year of Test experience and 3 years of ICBM Test experience.

     

    At least 7 years of experience leading system design, integration, and analytical efforts. Strong leadership skills and a proven record of managing teams/programs, with special emphasis on meeting engineering challenges.

     

    Knowledge of AFI 99-103 Integrated Test Programs.

     

    Knowledge of ICBM/SBCM test planning and test conduct.

     

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    DOD acquisitions program experience is highly desirable.

     

    Knowledge of Digital Engineering or Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) is highly desirable.

     

    Experience with integrating requirements into existing acquisitions lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies is desirable.

     

    Knowledge or experience working with systems engineering tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture and Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is desirable.

     

    Experience with Requirements verification through test, analysis, examination and demonstration.

     

    Experience with Telemetry Systems, Instrumentation, Flight Termination Systems, Integration & Test, Range Safety Requirements (AF-MAN 91-710), Flight Testing.

     

    Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor integrated product team (IPT) leads and USAF leadership personnel.

     

    Technical leadership experience, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results.

     

    Ability to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment.

     

    Ability to effectively maneuver through political situation and anticipate roadblocks.

     

    Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction.

     

    Strong problem-solving skills.

     

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

     

    Experience with ICBM weapon systems, DOD and USAF system safety requirements, or military technology and technical data.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
