Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated System Scientist/Engineer to support advanced research in infrared imaging, threat detection, and active countermeasure technologies for a client in Washington, DC. This role focuses on developing simulation models, signal processing algorithms, and sensor systems to detect and counter missile and hypersonic threats to Naval platforms.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and analysis of imaging systems, develop real-time threat detection algorithms, and support field data collection and system testing.
Compensation: $58/hr. to $62/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field and 3-5 years of experience or Master's degree and 1-3 years of experience.
Strong background in optics and imaging systems.
Hands on experience with software/hardware integration
Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB.
Experience with systems simulation and digital signal processing.
Ability to communicate technical plans and timelines effectively.
Experience with distributed computing in either a Linux or Windows environment. Familiarity with atmospheric modeling and sensor calibration.
Knowledge of threat engagement analysis and algorithm optimization.
Experience with field testing and data acquisition systems.
