    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Electrical Designer will design, develop, and test the electrical systems related to ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting) firetrucks. The Electrical Designer is responsible for turning ideas for products into functional prototypes and eventual production. The position will support advanced engineering designs, production designs, and issue evaluation and resolution using engineering tools with efficient and affordable processes. The designer will achieve these goals by working cross functionally with other sub-system engineers, purchasing, production, service, and our sales team.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Responsible for maintenance, updating, and creation of electrical schematics used on ARFF vehicles and systems.

     

    Responsible for maintenance, updating, and creation of bill of materials based on specifications and equipment requirements for ARFF vehicles and systems.

     

    Supports ARFF internal Rosenbauer technicians by providing technical information, procedures, and programming.

     

    Supports ARFF production team with timely and accurate technical information, advanced troubleshooting, and assembly training as needed.

     

    Analyze and problem-solve design, production, and field issues to successful resolution.

     

    Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

     

    ### Minimum Education Required

    Associate degree in electrical design or drafting preferred.

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

    Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

    Associate degree in electrical design or drafting preferred.

     

    2 years of programing, loading, and testing software configurations preferred.

     

    Vehicle electrical system experience preferred.

     

    Working knowledge of electrical theory preferred.

     

    Previous experience with all facets of heavy vehicle construction and operation preferred.

     

    Bill of Material and CAD System experience preferred..

     

    Experience with schematic design / AutoCAD / Windchill / CREO preferred.

    Language:

    Able to find, read, and interpret relevant business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

     

    Able to write reports and business correspondence in a professional manner.

     

    Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.

     

    Able to communicate new information effectively to a team.

    Math:

    Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer:

    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially related to formulas and equations.

     

    Able to perform intermediate PC functions in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, Creo and AutoCAD.

    Abilities:

    Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non-standard situations.

     

    Strong attention to detail.

     

    Able to read and understand specs.

     

    Able to work professionally with customers/dealerships and internal customers to accomplish common goals.

     

    Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.

     

    Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

     

    Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
