Keep Facilities Running Strong – Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician I (Commercial)
Join PDS Tech Commercial as a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician Engineer in downtown New Orleans. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in keeping a 500,000 sq. ft. Class A office building running efficiently, supporting tenants in law, education, and accounting. You’ll work on complex building systems while leading a skilled engineering team and making a direct impact on operations and tenant satisfaction.
Pay: $28.00-$30.00/hour
Schedule:
+ Weekly rotating shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
+ One Saturday half-day per month required
Responsibilities:
+ Operate and maintain mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems with minimal supervision.
+ Perform tasks including painting, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work, and general repairs.
+ Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure compliance.
+ Maintain and manage work orders in the CMMS, prioritizing tenant service requests.
+ Supervise and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring quality standards are met.
+ Lead responses to on-call or emergency situations, making critical operational decisions.
+ Diagnose and resolve complex building system issues, including electrical and pneumatic controls.
+ Ensure safety compliance and maintain clean, safe work areas.
+ Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
+ Manage special projects and coordinate team assignments.
Qualifications:
+ 4–7 years of experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
+ **City of New Orleans 1st Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate – Air Conditioning required.**
+ Associate degree in engineering technology, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
+ Proven supervisory or leadership experience in building operations or a related field.
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and CMMS systems.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30 feet. Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and driving required.
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.
+ Strong leadership skills with a record of team development.
+ Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on complex problems.

**Pay Details:** $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
