    The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist I - is responsible for the administrative loan operations support related to their regionally assigned Relationship Team to ensure data is accurate in the core and ancillary systems for timely and accurate internal and external reporting. The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist I is responsible for the monitoring and reviewing of all loan files for completeness and accuracy, citing and clearing collateral and credit documentation exceptions, and ensuring the bank’s lien is perfected.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs post-closing review of loan files and verifies the completeness of files with all necessary documents and required signatures.

    • Performs quality reviews of Commercial loan files for accuracy as it relates to compliance with bank loan policies and procedures to assist in identifying training needs.

    • Knowledgeable in all aspects of Commercial loan documentation, understanding of legal entities and loan documents such as notes, security agreements, loan/credit agreements, etc.

    • Reviews final documents for completion and accuracy and ensures credit approval memo, loan approval system and credit agreement are consistent.

    • Creates, monitors and reviews collateral and credit exceptions and follows up with the Relationship Team on outstanding critical documents.

    Competencies Required:

    • Some knowledge of participation/syndication, construction and complex middle market transactions as well as accounting principles, loan processing procedures, and related regulations.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint) and ability to navigate loan and bank software applications and related websites.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy.

    • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively research and resolve issues and discrepancies.

    • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

    • Solid analytical and decision-making skills.

    Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

    • 3 years of banking or financial services industry experience OR a bachelor's degree in business administration, banking, or finance required.

    • 2 years of experience in business banking or loan operations, including middle market transactions, participations/syndication, and/or experience reviewing commercial closing documents preferred.

    Formal Education & Certification:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or related field preferred.

    Work Status:

    • Full-Time.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • None.

    Travel:

    • 0% travel expected.

    Working Conditions:

    • Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
