Job Summary:
The Social and Digital Media Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Enrollment Marketing, Communications, and Student Experience to carry out the college's strategic marketing and recruitment plan and express the brand identity through social and digital media, including posts to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. The Social and Digital Media Specialist is responsible for developing and executing creative short-form video and stories and photography, and must be creative, organized, collaborative, and deadline-oriented.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Manages the social media accounts for the institution under the supervision of the Senior Director of Enrollment Marketing, Communications, and Student Experience, and responds to comments, messages, and posts promptly and as merited.
+ Generates strategic content that illustrates the brand and authentically reflects the student experience and encourages social media engagement.
+ Develops and leads a team of student workers to create engaging social media content that highlights campus life, academics, and the student experience.
+ Creates creative videos and stories for the college's primary accounts on social media (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging platforms), the website, and other marketing and communications uses.
+ Takes, uploads, and archives photos for social media and for digital and print marketing and communications.
+ Creates GIFs and social media graphic designs that encourage continued and growing social media engagement.
+ Assists with event coverage, advertising photography, editorial/studio photography, and other photography and videography requests, including organizing photo and video shoots.
+ Closely monitors all institutional social media platforms and directs any department-specific questions, comments, or inquiries to the appropriate department and/or to their immediate supervisor.
+ Uses integrated marketing strategies to promote the following of college social media accounts.
+ Develops monthly reports of social media key performance indicators (KPIs).
+ As needed, provides project management support to the team.
+ Performs other duties as assigned that support the Marketing and Communications office objectives and needs.
+ Must be able to work after regular hours, weekends, and holidays to cover college events for our social and digital media platforms.
The estimated salary is $62,353.20 per year for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Job Requirements:
+ A Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, writing, or visual/digital media.
+ A minimum of one year of professional experience in digital communications.
+ Experience with photography, video, and creating social media content.
