    Duties Description Position responsibilities include:• Compiling and organizing data;• Checking data for accuracy;• Retrieving data from a PostgreSQL database;• Conducting demographic and social statistics research and trends analysis;• Maintaining and updating historical reference data;• Utilizing statistical software for simple and multivariate data analysis;• Compiling analytical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including Co-Executive Directors and Legislative Leadership.

     

    Minimum Qualifications Position specifications include:• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Demography, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field;• Knowledge of statistics, use of SPSS, SAS or other statistical packages, and Microsoft Excel;• Familiarity with SQL queries.Preference will be given to candidates who:• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;• Have the ability to synthesize data, visualize results, and present insights to nontechnical audiences;• Have experience working with census and other large demographic data sets;• Have a demonstrated ability to utilize AI prompts in research;• Have knowledge of programming in Python;• Have experience working with data visualization tools such as QuickSight, Tableau or similar programs;• Have familiarity with preparing data for use in GIS environments
