    Job Title: HVAC Testing and Balancing TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are looking for a skilled HVAC Testing and Balancing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform air and water balancing on commercial and institutional HVAC systems, verify system performance against design drawings, specifications, and applicable standards, and complete detailed TAB reports. This role requires adjusting and optimizing air and hydronic flows to achieve design criteria while using various instruments. The position involves troubleshooting system performance issues and interfacing with project managers, contractors, and commissioning agents.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform air and water balancing on commercial and institutional HVAC systems.

    + Verify system performance against design drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.

    + Complete detailed TAB reports and submit clear, legible, and accurate documentation.

    + Adjust and optimize air and hydronic flows to achieve design criteria.

    + Use instruments such as flow hoods, manometers, anemometers, pressure gauges, and hydronic meters.

    + Troubleshoot system performance issues and communicate findings.

    + Interface with project managers, contractors, and commissioning agents.

    + Maintain tools, calibration records, and safety procedures.

    + Perform and complete work assignments unsupervised.

    + Work in diverse project types, including industrial environments.

    + Travel to job sites throughout Brevard County and Central Florida; occasional overnight travel may be required.

    Essential Skills

    + Hands-on TAB experience (air and hydronic balancing).

    + Working knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, VAV systems, and control sequences.

    + Proficient in reading mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules.

    + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and reporting.

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certification with AABC, NEBB, or TABB is a plus.

    + OSHA 10/30 certification is beneficial.

    + Familiarity with building commissioning practices.

    + Experience with duct leakage testing or sound/vibration measurements.

    + Familiarity with report software (e.g., TABB Reports, AABC National Standards).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
