Job Description
Payrate: $21/hour
Position Type: Temp-to-hire
Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm (however, once we find the right candidate and he/she wants to start earlier, we are open to that)
Join our global manufacturing team at Ocean Optics, where precision logistics and operational excellence support the delivery of cutting-edge optical solutions. As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, managing inventory systems, and supporting warehouse operations across multiple regions.
You will:
+ Oversee shipping and receiving processes for high-value optical components and systems.
+ Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and documentation.
+ Maintain inventory accuracy using ERP systems and logistics platforms.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and secure delivery.
+ Support warehouse operations including material handling, packaging, and stock replenishment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare and process domestic and international shipments, including customs documentation and harmonization codes.
+ Operate logistics software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) for inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipment scheduling.
+ Coordinate freight carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and manage logistics timelines.
+ Maintain accurate records for audits, ISO compliance, and regulatory reporting.
+ Perform receiving inspections and ensure proper storage of incoming materials.
+ Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Communicate logistics issues and delays to production and supply chain teams.
About the Candidate
+ High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP), Microsoft Office, and logistics platforms.
+ Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently and across global teams.
+ Forklift certification and knowledge of warehouse safety protocols preferred.

**Pay Details:** $21.00 per hour
