Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

**Shift** Schedule: 1st shift 7:00am-330pm Monday-Friday

**Pay** : paying up to $35hr based off skills/experience relating to industry

Responsibilities

+ Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

+ Diagnose mechanical faults and identify solutions to minimize equipment downtime.

+ Install, assemble, and dismantle machinery as needed.

+ Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.

+ Replace or repair defective components, such as bearings, gears, motors, and pumps.

+ Collaborate with other maintenance team members, engineers, and production staff to improve equipment efficiency.

+ Maintain accurate detailed records of maintenance work performed.

+ Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in mechanical maintenance preferred.

+ 5 or more years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician or similar role.

+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency callouts when required.

+ Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

+ Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Work Environment

This position involves working in an industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery noise and variable temperatures. You must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment. The role requires standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces. You must provide your own tools and have some computer experience for emails and work orders.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
