    Job Description

    The role involves building and assembling crates that encase large steel parts for shipment. You will work from diagrams and written instructions, using hand tools to fit steel parts and make sub-assemblies. The job requires candidates to learn how to read blueprints and effectively use hand and power tools.

    Responsibilities

    + Build and assemble crates around large steel parts for shipment.

    + Assemble and fit steel parts according to diagrams and written instructions.

    + Use hand tools and power tools to create sub-assemblies.

    + Learn to read and interpret blueprints.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience using and reading a tape measure.

    + Proficiency with power tools such as saws and drills.

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Mechanically inclined.

    + Experience in production, construction, carpentry, or general labor.

    + Ability to communicate effectively.

    + Detail-oriented.

    + Familiarity with blueprints and schematics.

    + Experience in a shop or welding class.

    + Ability to articulate experience clearly.

    This position offers a competitive pay rate that typically increases upon conversion. You will be eligible for a tuition reimbursement program and benefits after 90 days of employment. Additionally, after five months, you become eligible for a bonus program and profit sharing, which has recently provided substantial monthly bonuses for employees in good standing.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The job is set in an industrial environment, which can be dirty and subject to temperature changes based on outside conditions. Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise. Warm clothing is recommended in winter and cooler attire in summer. The environment is similar to a shop setting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
